iGNITE Live
Friday, August, 14th, KCSoul.com, launches a new online urban magazine for KC called “iGNITE! In line with the magazine launch comes “iGNITE Live”, a brand new show, designed to deliver the “LIVE Magazine Experience”. iGNITE showcases the hott issues, talent and resources for urban KC. The Premiere is Friday, at the Gem Theater, 18th & Vine at 7pm.
The event boasts of having some of the city´s top talent. In fact, this weekend´s kick-off event includes Soul´s Poem, KC´s rising R&B/Neosoul superstars., LeVelle, aka LB, one of the town´s most notable R&B crooners who´s graced the stage with national superstars and even ShavonQueen, on of KC´s top Spoken Word artists. Plus DJ Q hot tracks with DJ Q..
Beyond a concert, iGNITE pools some of the city´s “mass reach” personalities into a roundtable conversations. Comedian and Host, Bobby J, Poet Simeon Taylor, KPRS-FM radio jock, Sean Tyler, along with UMKC administrator Tiffany Williams, and Pastor Darron Edwards, banker and pageant producer, Sue Drakeford are just a few of the participants in the first event, titled“Black in Kansas City”, addressing hott topics in race, discrimination and image.
It´s easy to see that iGNITE serves a wide spectrum of the community. Both organizations and individuals benefit from an event like this. In fact, nonprofits are featured monthly and have an opportunity to raise money for their organizations. Beyond information, individuals come to get inspired. As the name implies, iGNITE is beyond an information portal, it´s not even just providing news, it´s about starting, illuminating and heating.
